I had forgotten
how your car smells:
like a mix of old soccer cleats
and cigarettes
it's oddly revolting and comforting
I can't remember if you actually meant the world to me
or if i just said that
But you nonchalantly toss around the words - denying
Like I meant nothing
Like we meant nothing
And I know that my memory might be flawed
but I could have sworn you said you loved me
But I know
that whispers sound false in this lighting.
